About the Provider
The National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association, Inc. is a full service Non-Profit Trade Association headquartered in Fredericksburg, Texas. The association establishes national standards for all Terrazzo floor and wall systems and provides complete specifications, color plates, and general information to architects and designers at no cost.
Learning Objectives:
- Attendees will learn what terrazzo is, its rich history, and why it should be specified in healthcare settings. They will be given the definition and list of components that make up terrazzo. They will hear of the endless color options and various aggregates available.
- Attendees will explore the green elements and sustainability of terrazzo. As the original recycled flooring, terrazzo has proven to last over 100 years in buildings and survive hurricanes and floods.
- Attendees will learn about the types of systems available in terrazzo, the differences between cement and epoxy systems, the installation of each system, surface preparation, moisture testing, grouting, and grinding.
- Attendees will learn about precast vs poured-in-place stairs and curbs, non-slip strips, crack repair, flexural test, crack membrane, and divider strips.
- Attendees will see a series of designs and case studies of terrazzo in healthcare applications.
