Benefits of Impermeable Concrete & Permanent Impermeable Repair Materials

Benefits of Impermeable Concrete & Permanent Impermeable Repair Materials

This course explores the benefits of impermeable concrete in addressing issues within and outside the building envelope. This technology addresses moisture issues in flooring and other related areas. Making any concrete impermeable will extend its usable life. If concrete needs to be repaired, it should be done using a permanent impermeable repair material.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Understand concrete composition, what happens to free water and moisture during the curing process, and the benefits of water/vapor proofing concrete to reduce moisture and concrete issues.
  2. Learn how to eliminate VOCs to maintain a safe environment and reduce contaminants in the air. (e.g., mold).
  3. Present advanced technology to improve long-term project performance by eliminating potential flooring & coating failures.
  4. Explain how impermeable concrete inside and outside the building envelope contributes to eliminating dampness as well as improving air quality for building occupants.
  5. Describe the benefits of permanent concrete repairs and the positive impact on the environment.
